Shorts

Swimming, surfing... Quick shorts for Monster High boys




Yarn used: Lang yarns Novena
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 7-8 sts = 1 inch
Worked in the round (top down) and flat with dpns, three needle bind off
Scrap yarn for marking
Ravelry: Swimming shorts

Bo = bind off
k = knit
M1 = make one (pick up the strand that runs between the stitch you just knit and the next stitch on the left-hand needle: insert the left needle from front to back into the horizontal strand between the two stitches. Knit this stitch through the back loop)
p = purl
sts = stitches
three needle bind off tutorials and videos are easily found in the internet





Cast on 24 stitches. Divide sts in to three needles and join in the round.
Rounds 1-3: (k1, p1) repeat
Round 4: (k3, M1) repeat to the end of row = 32 sts

16 sts form the backside of the shorts and another 16 sts form the front. Mark the backside with scrap yarn. Backside shaping is now worked flat:
Row 5: k16, turn
Row 6: p16, turn. Continue knitting in the round:
Rounds 7-11: knit all 32 sts (backside should now measure about 7/8" from the cast on edge)
Round 12: k8, m1, k16, m1, k8 (= 34 sts)
Round 13: Bo7, k3,Bo14, k3, Bo7
Cut the yarn and re-join it in the front. (Another three sts are waiting in the back needle.)
Work flat:
k3, turn
p3, turn
k3, turn
p3, turn
k3, turn
p3
Make three needle bind off and weave in all the ends.

Cape

There´s an Autumn chill in the air... Cape for Monster High dolls





Yarn used: Cewec Linea Lamé
One tiny snap fastener or Velcro
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 7 sts = 1 inch
Worked flat with dpns
In Ravelry: Autumn chill


Bo = bind off
Co = cast on
k = knit
kfb = knit into front and back of the same stitch (one stitch more)
p = purl
st, sts = stitch, stitches
( ) = repeat sts which are inside the parenthesis





Co 36 sts.
Rows 1-2: (k1, p1) repeat
Row 3: Bo 10 sts, k26 sts
Row 4: purl
Row 5: knit
Row 6: kfb, purl to the last stitch, kfb (two sts increased = 28 sts)
Row 7: knit
Row 8: purl
Row 9: kfb, knit to the last stitch, kfb (two sts increased = 30 sts)

Repeat rows 4-9 (remember to make increases) until the length of the cape from the cast on edge is about 4 1/2". Work two rows of (k1, p1) rib. Bind off.
Note: If you wish you can make the cape shorter or longer, just try it on to your doll while knitting.

Weave in all ends and attach snap fastener of tiny piece of Velcro to the collar.
