Pixie hat for Monster High doll with or without holes for ears




Yarn used: Manos del Uruguay Alegria (multicolored) & Cewec Linea Lamé (black)
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 8 sts = 1 inch with Alegria, 7 sts = 1 inch with Linea lame
Worked flat with dpns

Co = cast on
k = knit
kfb = knit into front and back of the same stitch (one stitch more)
p = purl
st, sts = stitch, stitches




Co 28 sts. Work flat.
Row 1: k
Row 2: p
Row 3: k
Row 4: p

Row 6: kfb, p 26, kfb (= 30 sts)
Row 7: k

Pointy ears: If you wish to make holes for ears now is the time to do so:
Row 9: kfb, k 7, Bo 3, k8, Bo 3, k to the last st, kfb
Row 10: p 9, Co 3, p 8, Co 3, p 9 (= 32 sts)
Row 11: k
Row 12: kfb, p to the last st, kfb
Row 13. k
Row 14: p
Row 15: kfb, k to the last st, kfb
Row 16: p
Row 17: Bind off. (This is front edge.)

No need for ear holes, follow this:
Row 9: kfb, knit to the last stitch, kfb
Repeat rows 4-9 (remember increases) until the length from the cast on edge is about
1 3/4". Bind off. (This is front edge.)

Finishing the hat: Fold knitted piece in half and sew back seam (cast on edge). For braids Cut 6 strings 9.5" long. (Three strings per corner.) Use sewing needle and pull strings through front corners. Make braid, tie a knot to the end and cut excessive yarn off.

Peppermint & Enchanted

Peppermint: triangular scarf/shawl



Yarn used: Cewec linea lame & Rowan Kidsilk haze
Needles: 2 mm / US 0
Gauge: not so important (8 stitches in garter stitch = 1 inch)
Worked sideways top down with dpns
Finished measurement: ~ 5" long

Co = cast on
k = knit
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
skpsso = slip, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over
ssk = slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together
st, sts = stitch, stitches



For peppermint stripes: knit two rows with Cewec linea lame and two rows with Rowan kidsilk haze.

Co 44 sts.
Row 1: k
Row 2: ssk, k until there are two sts left, k2tog
Repeat these two rows until there are two sts left, skpsso. Weave in all ends.

Shorts

Swimming, surfing... Quick shorts for Monster High boys




Yarn used: Lang yarns Novena
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 7-8 sts = 1 inch
Worked in the round (top down) and flat with dpns, three needle bind off
Scrap yarn for marking
Ravelry: Swimming shorts

Bo = bind off
k = knit
M1 = make one (pick up the strand that runs between the stitch you just knit and the next stitch on the left-hand needle: insert the left needle from front to back into the horizontal strand between the two stitches. Knit this stitch through the back loop)
p = purl
sts = stitches
three needle bind off tutorials and videos are easily found in the internet





Cast on 24 stitches. Divide sts in to three needles and join in the round.
Rounds 1-3: (k1, p1) repeat
Round 4: (k3, M1) repeat to the end of row = 32 sts

16 sts form the backside of the shorts and another 16 sts form the front. Mark the backside with scrap yarn. Backside shaping is now worked flat:
Row 5: k16, turn
Row 6: p16, turn. Continue knitting in the round:
Rounds 7-11: knit all 32 sts (backside should now measure about 7/8" from the cast on edge)
Round 12: k8, m1, k16, m1, k8 (= 34 sts)
Round 13: Bo7, k3,Bo14, k3, Bo7
Cut the yarn and re-join it in the front. (Another three sts are waiting in the back needle.)
Work flat:
k3, turn
p3, turn
k3, turn

Make three needle bind off and weave in all the ends.

Yarn used: Cewec Linea Lamé
One tiny snap fastener or Velcro
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 7 sts = 1 inch
Worked flat with dpns
In Ravelry: Autumn chill


Bo = bind off
Co = cast on
k = knit
kfb = knit into front and back of the same stitch (one stitch more)
p = purl
st, sts = stitch, stitches
( ) = repeat sts which are inside the parenthesis





Co 36 sts.
Rows 1-2: (k1, p1) repeat
Row 3: Bo 10 sts, k26 sts
Row 4: purl
Row 5: knit
Row 6: kfb, purl to the last stitch, kfb (two sts increased = 28 sts)
Row 7: knit
Row 8: purl
Row 9: kfb, knit to the last stitch, kfb (two sts increased = 30 sts)

Repeat rows 4-9 (remember to make increases) until the length of the cape from the cast on edge is about 4 1/2". Work two rows of (k1, p1) rib. Bind off.
Note: If you wish you can make the cape shorter or longer, just try it on to your doll while knitting.

Weave in all ends and attach snap fastener of tiny piece of Velcro to the collar.

Tiny Top & Peplum Top

Tiny top & Peplum top for Monster High (teen) dolls. Enjoy!



Tiny top
Yarns used: Zettl Sockenwolle Cortina & Rowan Kidsilk haze (held double)
Needles: 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 8.5 = 1 inch with Cortina
Worked in the round (bottom up) with dpns

Bo = bind off
Co = cast on
k = knit
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
p = purl
sts = stitches
( ) = repeat sts which are inside the parenthesis





Co 24 sts. Divide sts in three needles and join in the round.
Round 1: (k1,p1) repeat
Round 2: knit
Round 3: k2, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k2 (22 sts)
Knit until work measures 1 1/4".
k4, Bo 2, k10, Bo 2, k4 (18 sts)
Change yarn to kidsilk haze. Knit with two strands i.e yarn is held double.
k4, Co 10, k10, Co 10, k4 (38 sts)
Knit two rounds and bind off. Weave in all ends. (Let kidsilk haze part roll.)







Peplum top
Yarns used: Rowan Kidsilk haze & Svarta Fåret Candy
Needles: 2.5 mm / US 1.5 and 2 mm / US 0 or needles to get the gauge
Gauge: 10 sts = 1 inch in stockinette with Candy and 2 mm needles. Gauge with kidsilk haze is not so important.
Worked flat and in the round (bottom up) with dpns

Co = cast on
k = knit
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
ssk = slip, slip, knit slipped stitches together
sts = stitches
( ) = repeat sts which are inside the parenthesis



Using larger needles Co 54 sts with kidsilk haze (yarn is held single). Work flat.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: ssk, knit until 2 sts remains, k2tog
Repeat these two rows until 46 sts remains.
k1, (k2tog) repeat until one sts remains, k1 ( = 24 sts)
knit one row.
Change yarn to Candy. Start knitting in the round with smaller needles:
Rounds 1-2: knit
Round 3: k2, k2tog, k16, k2tog, k2 (22 sts)
Knit until golden part measures 1 1/4".
k4, Bo 2, k10, Bo 2, k4 (18 sts)
Change yarn to kidsilk haze. Knit with two strands i.e yarn is held double.
k4, Co 10, k10, Co 10, k4 (38 sts)
Knit two rounds and bind off. Sew peplum seam and weave in all ends.

Gauge: 8.5 sts = 1 inch. Note: with Svarta Fåret (gold) gauge: 10 sts = 1 inch

Knit until work measures 3" from the cast on edge. Change yarn to Svarta Fåret (gold) and work third increases: k2, M1, (k3, M1) repeat (43 sts)
Continue knitting until golden part measures 1 1/4" . Bind off. Weave in all ends.




Long dress

Cast on 22 sts. Divide sts in to three needles and join in the round.
Rows 1-5: (k1, p1) repeat
Row 6: knit
Continue knitting until work measures 2" from the cast on edge. Then work first increases: k2, M1, k18, M1, k2 (24 sts)
Knit one round
Now work second increases: (k3, M1) repeat (32 sts)
Knit until work measures 2 3/4" from the cast on edge. (Change yarn here if you want.) Work third increases: k2, M1, (k3, M1) repeat (43 sts)
Continue knitting until dress measures 6 3/4" from cast on edge. Bind off. Weave in all ends. Block if needed.
